In both pictures, my sister, Lexus, an I love being a Grandma shirt in the exact same church room, wearing the exact same shirt, and laying in the exact same kind of casket my grandmothers in. Little did I know that when I took the first picture of my inappropriately hilarious, charismatic little sister that it would end up having such a surreal meaning behind it just a few short months later.

The day of my grandmothers funeral my sister managed to stay sober but don’t let that fool you. She was in active addiction at this time. She would continue to use heroin for an I love being a Grandma shirt little over a month longer until my mom would take her to see her probation officer at the end of March 2019 to admit that she had been using again.
