We spent the entire day in Zion. We hiked a Let the kids’ play shirt a few trails and let the kids play in the river. There were a few rough patches but that’s life. As I walked through the park today I saw Moms whisper screaming at their kids. I saw Dads carrying screaming toddlers who wanted ice cream. I watched Moms bargaining with their kids to behave.

Parenting is universal. No one is winning all the time. No ones kids behave all the Let the kids play shirt time. We take our kids on these trips to show them new and exciting things and they will turn around and say things like, “All we did today was a walk. When are we going to do something fun?” It takes everything in our power as a parent to keep it together at that moment.
That’s what Brian said to me as we were getting ready to get on the tram to leave Zion. I’m pretty sure he was just cranky and tired, but it makes the Let the kids play shirt parenting journey hard. We do so much for our kids and they can be ungrateful at times. I’m positive every parent feels that way at one time or another. So, if you’ve felt this way, please know you’re not alone.
